europalia.brasil in progress
For its 23th edition, Europalia goes to South America and invites Brazil, the fifth largest country in the world.
As of October 2011 till January 2012, plenty of arts centre and museums in Belgium and its neighbouring countries will host Brazilian art & culture.
From the first visit to Brazil we were impressed by the diversity of the people and its culture.
This diversity became the source of inspiration for the preparation of the programme of the festival europalia.brasil, which has been made up through meetings with experts in Europe. We invite you to follow the development of the programme on this website.
If Brazil evokes images of carnival, the Amazon forest or Indian tribes do not hesitate and mark the europalia.brasil festival in your agenda.
Through Europalia.brasil you will discover the known but also the less known aspects of Brazil.
Without any doubt, it will be a colourful festival with lots of variety and rhythm.
