Derya Türkan is a young kemençe master who both improvises and performs a classical Ottoman repertoire. For this series of concerts, he brings together several string virtuosos. Kayhan Kalhor is an internationally acclaimed kamancheh virtuoso. This Iranian began his music studies at the age of seven, and by 13, he was invited to play in the national Radio and Television Concert of Iran. As a soloist, he plays with top orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic. Turkan and Kalhor will be joined by Sokratis Sinopoulos, a Greek classical guitarist and exceptionally gifted kemençe player, who during the last ten years, has also dedicated himself to reintroducing the kemençe into Greek music. Ali Bahrami Fard studied santur under the legendary master Ostad Faramarz Payvarand thanks to his flawless technique is recognised as one of the best santur players of his generation.
