EUROPALIA EUROPA celebrated the continent through 266 events: 11 exhibitions, 51 concerts, 87 theatre and dance performances, 81 film screenings, and 29 conferences and debates, attended by 621, 991 people.
The exhibition Le Grand Atelier was one of the festival highlights, as it brought together 350 works of art from 22 European countries. The movie 27x27x27 was screened at the end of the exhibition and showed 27 interviews with contemporary artists from each member state. A walking tour through Brussels called Agorafolly, presented a collection of works created by 27 young, emerging European artists.
The festival's diverse programme featured music, theatre, and dance during and events organised by all participating countries. These included an interpretation of the works of Samuel Beckett by the Irish actor Barry McGovern, the German dance performance Schritte Verfolgen choreographed by Susanne Linke, Romanian jazz concerts featuring Anca Parghel and Emy Dragoi, and a spectacular performance by the Slovak baroque ensemble Solamente Naturali.
