Born in Makassar in 1988, Patrick Hartono is a young Indonesian electro-acoustic composer and intermedia artist who uses technology and science as his creative tools. His interests include 3-D sound spatialisation, analogue/digital synthesis, psychoacoustic and visual music. Most of his works use the sounds of Indonesian traditional musical instruments, computer generated sound/images, field recordings and underwater photography, which he transforms, rearranges and modulates using mathematical rules, real-time interaction and controlled random operations.

His music has been performed at international festivals and venues including YCMF (Yogyakarta, Indonesia), WOCMAT (Taiwan), Sound Bridge Festival (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), IRCAM (Paris, France), NYCEMF (New York, USA), ACL (Yokohama, Japan), and Sonorities Festival (Belfast, Northern Ireland). Patrick is currently based in Den Haag, the Netherlands, and studies at Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory where he is actively involved in the local and international electro-acoustic and experimental media scene.
