Dan Coman, born in 1975 in Gersa (Romania). He has published four collections of poetry: The year of the yellow mole (Ed. Vinea , 2003), Ghinga (Ed. Vinea, 2005), Mara’s dictionary, the father’s handbook 0-2 years (Ed. Edgar Cartier, 2009), The Coman Insectarium (Ed. Charmides, 2017).
He has also published three novels: Irresistible (Ed. Cartea Românească, 2010), The Parish (Ed. Cartea Românească, 2012), Mariage (Ed. Polirom, 2015). He received the prize of the Writers' Union in Romania for his debut (2004), the Mihai Eminescu National Poetry Prize for Opera Prima (2004), Vilenica Crystal Prize (Slovenia, 2011), the Radio Romania Cultural Prize (2010, 2018), the Cultural Observatory Prize (2018), the Poetry Book of the Year Award (2017) at the Young Writers' Gala (2018). He lives in Bistrița where he organizes the International Festival of Poetry and Music “Poetry is in Bistrița”.
