Founded in 1932, Electrecord was the only record label in Romania during the country’s communist era. Throughout its history, Electrecord had to juggle the demands and limitations imposed by the regime with the needs of musicians and audiences. Numerous visual artists, many of whom have since been internationally recognized, collaborated on the design of album covers.
