In the presence of Rodion G.A.
The year is 3084. Humankind settled interplanetary space, but space is still full of secrets. On a research mission to a newly discovered galaxy heads the most advanced spaceship, Delta, operated by an extremely powerful electronic brain...
In 1984, a few Romanian musicians were asked to submit demos for the soundtrack of an early animated science fiction film, Misiunea spatiala Delta. Rodion G.A., one of Romania’s electronic music pioneers, sent in a 15-minute demo score that was rejected by the filmmakers and remained unknown to the public until 2014 when the UK record label Strut discovered the demo and decided to release an album with Rodion’s music.
Rodion Ladislau Rosca aka Rodion G.A. and his band enjoyed cult status in the late ‘70s and ‘80s during the communist regime in Romania. They created hybrid electronic music with psychedelic and progressive rock influences that was remarkably ahead of its time. After decades of obscurity, and only a handful of singles ever officially released, Rodion’s music has finally received the international recognition it deserves.
EUROPALIA has invited Rodion G.A. to finish his work from 1984 and the result will be world premiered along with the film Misiunea spatiala Delta during EUROPALIA ROMANIA. The screening of Dream Images, Sorin Luca's documentary on Rodion G.A., will precede this special event.
