Aitor Etxebarria – Gernika

Gernika is contemporary composer Aitor Etxebarria’s most personal and ambitious project to date. Following its premiere at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao by the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, and a special concert at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid against the backdrop of Picasso’s Guernica painting, it will be performed during EUROPALIA ESPAÑA. Gernika is a symphonic work in four movements that alternates moments of deep silence with intense dynamics, eccentric aesthetics with minimalist landscapes. A perfect fusion of old and contemporary music.
