Oriol Vilanova explores systems of collecting and display by means of postcards and insignificant cultural artefacts, and how these become valuable. For his residency at the Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation, the Brussels-based Spanish artist immersed himself in the Foundation’s archive and collection. The outcome is a new body of work that reflects on the exhibition as an artistic format, how we curate, exhibit, and transmit images, and how this shapes our collective imagination, thereby creating a new dialogue in which collecting becomes a performative, critical, and poetic act.
