Hector Espuela Pablo – The Making of a Lethargy

The Making of a Lethargy – or Sleeping Beauty from a cyborg and trans-non-binary perspective – takes us on a thought-provoking exploration of the tensions between fiction and reality, irony and pain, self and other. At the heart of this solo performance is a life-sized doll that is brought to life to become the centrepiece of a playful, yet though-provoking story about transformation. The human character represents a dream, trying to awaken the sleeping doll. From the Sleeping Beauty story, new narratives emerge in which the doll becomes a tool with which to analyse and reconstruct images and meanings.
