Dolores Montoya Rodríguez, known as Lole Montoya, was born into a gypsy family specializing in flamenco. With her partner Manuel Molina she formed the famous Lole y Manuel duo, revolutionizing flamenco with their innovative style. Lole champions gypsy culture through her music, collaborating with leading artists. Since the 1990s, she has gone solo, exploring new styles and combining flamenco with Arabic and gospel influences, and in so doing confirming her status as one of the most emblematic figures of contemporary flamenco.
