Maider López – Walk the river

This performance seeks to make the hidden River Senne in Brussels visible and audible by walking a stretch of its historical course. For the past two centuries, the Senne has been covered over and diverted for reasons of pollution and flood control. Today, it flows underground for 6 kilometres, its course largely unknown to those living above it. Walk the River aims to remedy this disconnection by listening, walking, and remembering. In her work, Maider López often disrupts spatial norms, inviting us to experience ordinary spaces in new and enriching ways.
